What is the most common female wax you perform?

How much does female waxing hurt?
As a general guide, the feeling is like being slapped with a plastic ruler and fades quickly.
Follow up treatments are gentler than the first, as the hair won't have time to fully develop.
What exactly is a Brazilian wax?
Brazilian waxing is an umbrella term for all genital waxing. Both men and women can get Brazilians.

Is Waxing Permanent?
Over a long period, waxing will have a general thinning effect, but it won't be complete.

What could prevent me having a treatment?
If you are in good health, are not in your first trimester of pregnancy, and have no major skin conditions, you should be an ideal candidate for waxing.

Around my caesarean scar is hairy but it hurts to touch.
I typically avoid the caesarean scar and surrounding area for a few months after childbirth.
Usually at around six months, a caesarean scar has fully healed and stops being painful to put hand pressure on.
Most women are comfortable with me waxing around the scar or even directly over it at this point.
At some future point, you might like to consider a few sessions of IPL Photo Rejuvenation or RF Skin Tightening to help heal the deep dermal layers of your skin.
How much female waxing experience do you have?
I have been performing female waxing since I opened my first Brisbane waxing studio at Tarragindi in 2001.
As at January 2026, I have performed a little over 12,000 women's Brazilian wax treatments.
Do you have any before and after-care advice?
With a little bit of preparation and after-care, you can maximise the results of your waxing treatment.
- Moisturise before your appointment.
- Wear loose fitting clothes.
- Avoid synthetic materials.
- Don't clipper your hair to shorten it.
- Use post-wax lotion afterwards.
- Avoid chlorine, hot tubs, gym after.
- Avoid antiperspirant and cologne after.
I'm really hairy all over. I feel like a freak.
You're not a freak. It's very common for girls to develop some type of male hair growth patterns (hirsutism), and it makes them feel un-feminine.
95% of women get unexpected hair growth at some point in the lives, some as teenage girls, some as grand-mums, and most after having a baby.
Whatever age you are, or wherever your hair grows, relax. You are definitely not unusual.
I'm pregnant. Will it harm my baby if I get a Brazilian wax?
During a Brazilian wax, it's necessary to apply pressure on the pubis and lower stomach. In that same region, your new baby is growing so we want to be careful.
The first trimester is when bub is most vulnerable. To help ensure absolute safety, pregnancy during the first three months is usually considered a contraindication for waxing.
Heading into month 4 and beyond, a waxing therapist is usually more willing to perform an intimate area wax due to the reduced risk. The main factor from this point on is which position you find most comfortable.
Some women have difficulty lying on their back for too long due to the weight of the baby on their bladder and other organs. This can often be alleviated by lying partially on your side, bending your knee for support, and propping your back and stomach with pillows.
As the day of delivery approaches, it's very common nowadays for ladies to elect to get a full Brazilian wax including the hair around their anus and perineum.
You want to get this done about 5 days prior so that any lingering pinkness has calmed down. Going into labour with smooth skin eliminates the need to be shaved on the table by a nurse.
I know you from elsewhere. Will this be awkward?
It doesn't have to be. For example, I wax many women who I cycle with.
The first time a friend gets naked for me, most compare it to a doctor's examination. It's pretty much the same thing.

How old does a girl have to be to get pubic hair waxing?
I don't treat girls under 18 unless your parent or guardian is a regular client, AND they accompany you on the day.
Assuming that's the case, if you want a standard bikini wax, 16 is OK.
If you want a G-string or Brazilian, you must be 18.
Will a Brazilian wax increase sensitivity during sex?
Yes, dramatically. The difference is amazing. It's even better if your partner gets a Manzilian as well. 😁
How can I mimimise the chance of ingrown hairs?
Ingrown hairs occur when a new hair is unable to break through the surface of the skin.
This is usually caused by a combination of tight clothing or underwear elastic, and lack of exfoliation.
